Body Image & Self-Love: Techniques to Improve Recovery and Prevent Relapse

The foundation of a healthy self-esteem is self love and encompasses a belief in one's own worth - imperfections and all. Self-esteem exists on a continuum with self-love. Beyond the low self-esteem we see in ED clients, a lack of self-love is an ominous sign of pathology and failure to address a lack of self-love may leave a cause for future relapse. In this interactive workshop, Dr. Pennington offers a five-tierd approach to fostering self-love based on research and clinical experience of Cloninger, Seligman and her own group practice.

Dr. Pennington is the President of iaedp and is an integrative medicine physician and acupuncturist. She has specialty training in substance abuse and eating disorders as well as empowerment coaching. Dr. Pennington is also a TV and Radio professional who leads workshops and retreats around the world. Her first book, The Pennington Plan, includes a 5-step motivational plan for total wellbeing.
