Objectives: Following this presentation, participants will be able to: 1) demonstrate understanding of various supervision techniques to enhance learner processing and decision making. 2). utilize resources available to successfully guide the supervisee through necessary learning objectives as they relate to core coursework, required reading, and utilization of evidence-based and best practices as well as ethics related to the supervisory experience. 3). identify common hurdles experienced by iaedp-approved supervisors in various scenarios of supervisee work settings
Dr. Kari Anderson, LPC, CEDS has been treating eating disorders for 27 years, with recent emphasis on Binge Eating Disorder. She is Executive Director for Green Mountain at Fox Run and the Women's Center for Binge and Emotional Eating in Ludlow, Vermont. She earned her Doctorate of Behavioral Health in 2012 from Arizona State University researching effective Binge Eating Disorder treatment. Kari is the co-author of the acclaimed book, Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat for Binge Eating: A Mindful Eating Program for Healing Your Relationship with Food and Your Body. She serves on the iaedp Certification Committee.

Amanda Mellowspring is a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian and iaedp-approved supervisor. She has worked as a leader in nutrition services in a variety of treatment settings including RTC, PHP, IOP, college health, and private practice. Amanda served as an author for the development and publication of Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance for dietitians working with eating disorders and served on the certification committee for iaedp. Amanda is a nationally recognized speaker regarding nutrition in the treatment of eating disorders. Amanda owns Eat from the Earth Nutrition Counseling, LLC in Blacksburg, VA and serves as the Director of Nutrition Services for Clementine Programs, a Monte Nido affiliate for adolescent girls.
