Background: Effective Treatment Modalities for clients with eating disorders include both "tried and true" methods which have been used over the years, and cutting edge modalities. Treatment methods will be presented didactically and experientially, and professionals will be able to immediately utilize many of the treatment methods in their own practices.

This introductory course on Treatment Modalities for eating disordered patients will address the most effective treatment methods for clinicians new to the profession, or for those wanting to learn more. This course will address eating disorder symptoms and the various methods of treatment designed to ameliorate these issues. Treatment techniques will be discussed didactically and demonstrated experientially through participation to gain an intrinsic experience for the participant using the methods. Tools and skills, complete with handouts, will be offered to attendees who wish to use them immediately in their own practices.

Holly A. Finlay, MA, LPCC, CEDS, CSP

Holly Finlay has been a member of iaedp for over 20 years, and has served on the Board of Directors since 2004. She is currently the Founder and Clinical Director of the Eating Disorders Treatment Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she has been in practice for over 20 years. Holly is both a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and a Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist. She provides individual therapy, clinical supervision, group therapy, and runs both an adult and adolescent intensive out-patient program in Albuquerque.
