International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals - Call for Proposals
Call for Proposals
The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals
invites you to submit a proposal for the
2010 Symposium: Behind Closed Doors: Face to Face with the Client
to be held March 11-14, 2010 at The Walt Disney Swan Resort, Orlando, Florida.
Established in 1985, the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) is today well recognized for its excellence in providing first-quality education and high-level training standards to an international multidisciplinary group of various healthcare treatment providers and helping professions, who treat the full spectrum of eating disorder problems.
The focus of iaedp Symposium 2010 will be the realities and challenges of your work with eating disordered client--the essence of eating disorders treatment. All workshop sessions will be 3 hours for a more intensive learning experience. We are seeking abstract submittals for 3 hour intensive sessions.
Only the submittals that are complete will be considered.
The value of the overall iaedp program is perhaps best seen in its annual Symposium. The conference draws attendees from all corners of the globe, including especially numerous professionals from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and the United Kingdom. It is geared to the needs and problems of those who work with patients in a therapeutic environment. Interchange among participants is constant and challenging: workshops, professional development Institutes and plenary sessions focus on "cutting edge" information and techniques. In this conference, the emphasis is on exchange of information, not just listening.
This unique conference provides opportunities to recognize new frontiers in quality care. Participants will: update their research knowledge and competency, increase and acquire new skills, receive information on certification, and have networking/referral opportunities, as well as obtain continuing education credits.
Conference Goals
identify and treat individuals with anorexia, bulimia, and compulsive overeating;
discuss drug therapies currently used to treat eating disorders
